Preparation, Planning and Journeying II (PP+JII)
The progression from Preparation, Planning and Journeying I (PP+JI) takes us into a bit more exposed environment requiring a more extensive skill set.
We will spend day one and two exploring that environment and developing the skills necessary to maintain boat control. We will be looking for currents and swells as opposed to hiding from them. Night time sessions will get deeper into planning of crossings, dealing with currents and risk assessment among other topics.

On the third day, we will begin our three day journey on the more exposed Penobscot Bay. Conditions will determine our route, but we may find ourselves circumnavigating Isle au Haut, crossing to Vinalhaven or paddling the exposed south side of Swan's Island. Paddling will generally be more challenging and camping more remote as we explore this world famous Bay.
One would be well prepared for a BCU 4 Star Assessment after PPJ II
Duration: 5 Days - 2 Days Training and 3 Days Journeying
Prerequistics: Strong BCU 3 Star Skill or BCU 4 Star Training
Although we have some equipment available, the progression through the PP+J scheme would anticipate that each individual paddler will be responsible for their own kit appropriate to the conditions.
